Update:  Matthew Leone is apparently improving in a Chicago area hospital.  MTV caught up with his brother, Nathan, between hospital visits.

Matthew Leone, the bassist for Madina Lake, has been hospitalized after being severely beaten.  More information on this horrible story after the jump.

When Guillermo del Toro decided that he would not be directing the two upcoming Hobbit films, the internet started swirling with rumors of who would take his place.  The most obvious choice would be executive producer/writer Peter Jackson, who famously directed the original Lord of the Rings trilogy (and got a wheelbarrow full of Oscars for his effort).
